The UFWC (United Future World Currency) Eurodollar could be a major discussion point among the attending Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors at the upcoming G-20 meetings in Pittsburgh, PA, September 24-25, 2009. Aimed at replacing both the US Dollar and the Euro as a ‘single world currency,’ the UFWC Eurodollar has been receiving a lot of international publicity following positive comments by world leaders including Russian President Dimtrij Medvedev, Italy’s Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
At the recent G-8 Summit in Italy, July 2009, Russian President Medvedev illustrated his call for a supranational currency to replace the US Dollar and the Euro by pulling from his pocket a sample UFWC coin of a ‘United Future World Currency.’ The promoters of the UFWC Eurodollar think their single currency, based on a return to the ‘gold’ standard or one of new precious metals such as palladium, is essential to successfully interlinking the global economy. They expect the Eurodollar topic to be included in the G-20’s goals to discuss further actions to assure a sound and sustainable recovery from the global financial and economic crisis.
Italian economist/journalist Dr. Sandro Sassoli, creator and general coordinator of the UFWC Eurodollar project, says: “We will be honored to have an opportunity in the near future to present the G-20 world leaders with the United Future World Currency concept. We believe that a single currency is an historic, economic and inevitable social process and the premise for an increasingly global planet.”
Dr. Sandro Sassoli founded the UFWC Eurodollar in the mid-1990s on the advice of Arthur Schlesinger Jr., former advisor to President John F. Kennedy. Dr. Sassoli has also written the 10 articles that comprise the UFWC initiative’s ideal “Manifesto.” More information at: http://www.futureworldcurrency.com
Minted by the Royal Mint of Belgium - one of the first test coins is already on display at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. The original test coin was designed by Luc Luycx, the designer of the ‘common’ side of the current Euro coins. In 2015, the Milan Universal Expo will be the first important public exhibition of the UFWC.
